I have to carry my ID with me even when I go to take out the trash

On a summer afternoon in 2019, I go to throw some trash in the bins that are about 20 meters from my house. When I'm almost done throwing the trash, I hear the sound of a car skidding. I turn around and see the police (carabinieri) car approaching me at a high speed. They stop in front of me, and as a carabiniere is about to get out of the car, another carabiniere arrives on a bike and says "Nono. Not him. He's just a Pakistani." After this, the carabinieri get in the car and drive away. After this experience I realized that I have to carry my documents with me even when I go to throw away the rubbish.
